How to Connect Your Email Domain with Factoreal

Overview:

Before you start sending marketing email campaigns using Factoreal, you need to connect your own email domain, such as hello@yourdomain.com with Factoreal. This will allow Factoreal to send emails on your behalf by connecting an email sending domain.

Connecting your email sending domain is important as it will help prevent your marketing emails from getting caught in spam filters and make it more authentic.

In order for a successful connection of your domain with Factoreal, there are some records that you need to add in your DNS account, for which you need to login to your DNS account (You may need to seek help from your IT team).

In this document, we have tried to cover the steps for the following DNS:

  • GoDaddy
  • Cloudflare
  • AWS

Steps to be performed in Factoreal:

  1. Click Settings.
  2. Click Email.
  3. Click Add A New Domain.
  4. Enter your domain name, for example myflowershop.com and click Save Domain.
  5. Once you save your domain, you will see two DKIM and one Cname entry as follows.

Steps to be performed in GoDaddy

If your DNS is GoDaddy, perform the following steps or seek help from your IT team:

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account.
  2. Select your domain to access the Domain Settings.
  3. Under Additional Settings, select Manage DNS.
  4. Select Add under the records table.
  5. Under Type, select CNAME.

Enter the details for your CNAME record as follows:

Host: In the Host field in Godaddy, copy and paste the Host value provided in Factoreal under dkim1.

Note: Godaddy prefers to not have a domain name at the end of the host value, make sure you remove it when you are copy pasting the same in Godaddy.

  • Points to: In the Points to field in Godaddy, copy and paste the Data value provided in Factoreal under dkim1.
  • TTL: Set it as 1 hour.

Note: It can take anything between 1-48 hours by your DNS provider for your changes to take full effect globally.

Steps to be performed in Factoreal:

  1. Once you have successfully added all the three entries in Godaddy, wait for sometime for the changes to be effective and then in your Factoreal account, under Settings > Email, click the Verify button as shown above.
  2. Factoreal will then attempt to validate the DNS records. If your DNS changes are recognized, you will notice the red bar on the left changes to green.

Note: In case even after 48 hours Factoreal is not able to recognize your DNS changes, you can call GoDaddy’s helpline number 040 6760 7600. If no resolution found with GoDaddy, they you can contact Factoreal Support for further assistance at support@factoreal.com.

You can connect multiple domain as long as you own and have access to each domain.

While the above DNS provider (GoDaddy) may not match with yours exactly, the general steps remain the same.
